Gus Kellerman '19 | Batesville, Ind.

I am grateful for my time at Hill because I have made friends who will be with me for a long time; I’ve come to know so much more about myself; and I’ve had the opportunity to grow and flourish in an open and accepting environment.

Hill activities: Varsity Baseball, Spiritual Life Committee, Prefect, Ellis Theatre Guild, Classics Fellow

Hill memories: Spending family nights from third through sixth form year watching movies and tv shows with Mr. McMains and Mr. Webster, playing broomball, and countless FOCUS meetings on Friday nights.

Favorite Hill tradition: Chapel and Chapel talks

Favorite Dining Hall meal: General Tso’s Chicken

At Hill, I learned . . .  a great deal about time management, living away from home, and what it takes to meet other people. The main reason why I wanted to go to The Hill School was to expand my world view beyond Batesville, Indiana

I am grateful for my time at Hill because . . .  I have made friends who will be with me for a long time; I’ve come to know so much more about myself; and I’ve had the opportunity to grow and flourish in an open and accepting environment.

I am going to miss . . .  my roommate, Eric Cardoza; Syre Gruber, one of my closest friends since orientation; all of my friends from US4W; and all of the teachers who have helped me along the way.

Future plans . . . Attend Fordham University in New York to study theology. I would one day like to become an actor.

Gus gave a Chapel talk on January 25, 2019 on the topic of "Fear, Failure, and Following Your Emotions." Listen below.
