The Dining Hall Renovation Campaign
Dining Hall Renovation Updates
The Dining Hall is a pivotal gathering space on The Hill School’s campus and is emblematic of The Family Boarding School ideal. For well over a century, Hill students have used this space to connect during seated meals, build rapport with teachers and advisers, bond with teammates, and gather with classmates and friends after a long day. Although not a formal classroom setting, the Dining Hall is a key space for learning enduring life lessons.
As part The Hill School's The Strength of All Campaign, the Dining Hall recently was restored and expanded to meet the growing needs of our vibrant Hill community. Thanks to this $15.1 million project, our students and faculty can now comfortably enjoy both traditional seated and buffet meals prepared in the best and freshest way possible in an inspiring space. The Millhiser Family Dining Room opened in March 2019, and maintains the beautiful, original aesthetics (including our treasured N.C. Wyeth paintings) loved by generations of Hill families. The formal dedication ceremony took place during Reunion Weekend in June 2019. Read more.
The renovation project included: Updates to the kitchen and pantry; new food preparation equipment; reconditioning of the existing Dining Room including replacement of the floor; expansion of seating into Saunders Room; installation of air conditioning; a new dish drop; enhanced display of our N.C. Wyeth paintings; and a fully-renovated meeting room where the existing 'Room Above the Pantry' located.
